A Second Chance

“I know that I should make the best of what I have, because I may not have it forever.”

My time at DAEP (District Alternative Education Program) is almost up, only two and a half weeks left. I’m pretty excited to go back to my home school, but sad that I am leaving the best RY (Reconnecting Youth) teacher in the world! I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do when I get back. I do know for sure that I am not going to drink or use drugs!

You gave me some of the best advice even though I don’t like some of the feedback. I know that it is for the best. You have taught me to be very independent. I have not drunk or done any drugs in the past two months and it is going to stay that way.  I want to look pretty and not puny as a raisin when I am 28 years old.

I hope to see you again, but not in DAEP, because I am going to use S.T.E.P.S. (decision-making skills) before Ido anything stupid.  Yes, I admit that I have a pretty messed up life, but that doesn’t mean that I have to ruin it with drugs and alcohol. I now know that I should make the best of what I have,  because I may not have it forever. Well, I am going to miss you!
