Santa Fe Youth Services recognizes that resiliency of young people is uniquely and powerfully impacted by those individuals who take personal responsibility for contributing to the development of our children. Santa Fe Youth Service’s Board of Directors and agency leadership believe few public figures have accomplished more to model this commitment to young people than Fort Worth Mayor - Mike Moncrief.
The Mike Moncrief Believing in Youth Award is an annual award established for the purpose of recognizing those who demonstrate extraordinary commitment to the youth of the greater Tarrant County Area. Although recipients of this award may be recognized for accomplishments that are varied and diverse, they share a common quality of dedicated service that significantly enhances the quality of life and future prospects for the many young people they encounter.
On April 29, 2010, Santa Fe Youth Services will host the Seventh Annual Mike Moncrief Believing In Youth Award dinner at The Fort Worth Club in downtown Fort Worth. If you know of someone who meets the following criteria, we encourage you to nominate him/her by submitting the following information. A committee which consists of Santa Fe Youth Services’ Board of Directors and community volunteers will review the applications and will determine this year’s recipients in early February.
Criteria for “Believing in Youth” Award recipient:
- An individual of any age that has demonstrated a commitment to building a community that ensures that young people have the resources, opportunities, and strengths they need to thrive;
- Contributing to the development of community resources for under-served young people;
- Being involved in activities that influenced and encouraged young people to remain alcohol/drug free;
- Championing efforts to achieve change for the community's young people.
- Recipient must be available to attend the awards dinner on April 29th.
