Linking Youth to Needed Community Services (LYNCS) is a community based counseling program which utilizes the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach which has been proven effective in reducing adolescent substance use. Here is an overview:

The program consists of skill-building sessions designed to promote abstinence from marijuana, alcohol and other drugs, positive social activities and peer relationships, and improved relationships with family. This Program is designed as a counseling option for adolescents using alcohol/drugs that do not require an in-patient setting and includes intensive direction and assistance in how to use existing community resources to support positive change. The number of sessions will depend on progress of the youth and family.
